Lee In Demand: College Tour '11

We have a CRITICAL job for you, as a Lee DeWyze fan...
to make LEE in DEMAND.
Let me explain:

Main Stage Productions' announcement today leads us to believe that we can expect a College Tour this winter/spring from Lee DeWyze [similar to the route that David Cook took in '09 - Here is a glimpse into David's "Declaration Tour:" Feb-May was the College Tour and you can see he was BOOKED.]

Below is the official press release, that will help us play a vital roll in Lee's tour.

Here is the deal, this is where YOU come in. It's the most vital part to Lee's tour:
LEE in DEMAND

Rather then spamming Lee & telling him where you want him to come (b/c that's just not how it works), or contacting Main Stage Productions (they are sending out the press release to schools).....we need to go straight to the source. You can contact Main Stage Production & let them know of venues in your area where you want to see Lee, BUT make sure you request Lee at those venues, as well.

We need to show colleges & small theaters around the country that we WANT to see Lee! They might hear that Lee is booking shows but unless they know people want to see him, they have no reason to book him.

Some of Cook's shows would not have happened without the request of some fans. The schools saw the demand and booked him. We can do the same for Lee....

Contact [and link them to the press release]:
  • College Radio Stations
    • Let them know we want to hear & see Lee.
  • Student Life/Activities
    • Anyone who coordinates the events/concerts at the colleges (check the School's website for contact info)
  • Student Body Presidents
  • Local Radio Stations
    • Stations can sponsor events at clubs or small venues (i.e., Kris Allen played a free show at Hard Rock Hotel, part of Radio Sophie's Lounge in April '10, with Sara Bareilles; he later played at Anthology (a fine dining club) in July, an event sponsored by Star 94.1)
  • Small venues, clubs that have live music
    • Think of any venues you have been to for a concert
Side Note: Also, it helps again to check out David Cook's tour, as he is also with RCA....and these venues would be familiar with the record company.

Progress has already begun to be made with a simple request letting them know you want to see Lee in concert in our areas:

All @leedewyze fans, follow my good friend @iamvibe!!! He WILL be making a phone call tomorrow to HOPEFULLY BOOK LEE at his place :)

If we want Lee to succeed,
If you want to see him in a theatre near you....
we can't sit back and let RCA take care of it by themselves.
We must be actively making
LEE in DEMAND.

  1. I emailed the promotor, after getting all the info from the venues David/Kris/Danny/Chris D played at here in GB and Milwaukee. I got the phone numbers and emails of the contacts to book the shows. I did this way back early this afternoon after the posting came out. I emailed Mike at Main Stage Productions and within ten minutes he was back to me saying thank you and he would contact the venues and let me know if he gets positive feedback.

  3. Being an avid Lee fan and knowing the support that Illinois has shown him, I think that Illinois State University would be a prime location for his college tour. I know there is a great amount of support here for Lee and I think the town of Normal, IL( ISU's location) would embrace this idol winner with open arms.

I have thought of two possible venue locations:

Bone Student Center-Caprem Auditorium( on campus) Which is a theatre set up style that seats roughly 3,000 people. They have hosted past concerts here already this year and I think it is a great venue for a smaller audience, the sound quality in there is tremendous.

Redbird Arena- hosts sporting events and has hosted prior concerts in the past. It seats roughly 10,200 people and is a great venue for a concert. It is located on campus and is very accessible.

The students here would embrace this idol winner with open arms. I think you really need to consider a stop here at ISU. I could get the word out very easy here through newspapers, flyers and facebook events supporting Lee to come here.

  4. The University of Dayton is a school that prides itself on having and amazing time day-in and day-out. It is a large school in the center of a majorly populated area of Ohio in which surrounding cities include -- Cincinnati, Columbus, and of course Dayton. The campus of UD would be an ideal spot for Lee Dewyze to make an appearance and perform. Not only would UD benefit from the performance, but Lee would as well. HE would be able to solidify his name even more into the hearts of the people in the greater Ohio land.

There are two locations that would be ideal for a performance:
    1) The University of Dayton Arena -- UD arena holds just shy of 13,500 and it is a phenomenal venue for Flyer basketball and the NCAA tournament. It is a great venue in which countless people would be able to attend.

    2) Timothy's Bar and Grill -- Tim's is a University of Dayton tradition. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, UD students pack Tim's. performers such as Mike Posner and Sam Adams have performed or been sleighed to perform at Tim’s. It is a great UD tradition in which a wonderful crowd would be sure to attend.

The University of Dayton is a wonderful University prided on its wonderful community. On behalf of the entire student population, we would be honored to have someone as talented as Lee to perform here. It would be a privilege.

Thank you for your consideration and best of luck to Lee and all his future events!
